Ilocanos have many celebrations which
they are doing these celebrations remind them the spirit of unity and
cooperation. One of this is the KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL. Kannawidan is an Ilocano term
which means “a fest of all heritages, practices and products” in Ilocos Sur.
A KANNAWIDAN festival strengthens the
culture and traditions of Ilocanos. It reminds the new generation of Ilocanos
about this culture and tradition so that they may learn to appreciate it by
doing them and proud to share other people with different culture and
traditions. This KANNAWIDAN festival creates a more significant and harmonious
relationship of the Ilocanos. And it promotes the industry of every town in
Ilocos Sur.
So, we should continue patronizing the
KANNAWIDAN festival by involving ourselves and promoting this whenever we go
and whatever we do.
